PARENT INVOLVEMENT PROGRAM Parent involvement is a key component to a child's education. District 112 administration, staff, and Community Education coordinators work collaboratively to connect school with families and communities. ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES 'Magnifying Abilities' is a social/recreational program for persons in Scott and Carver Counties with mental and physical disabilities. The program is designed to enhance the community involvement and life-long learning of adults with disabilities. Included are craft and informational classes, tours, and sporting and other events. ADULT BASIC EDUCATION/ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS The following programs are co-sponsored by District 112 Community Education and the Carver-ScottEducational Cooperative: Adult/Youth Diplomas, GED, Math, Reading, Writing, English Language Learners, College Preparation, Citizen Preparation. Classes are for individuals 16 years of age and older and are held at the Adult Learning Center, Crosby Park, 309 Lake Hazeltine Drive, Chaska. EARLY CHILDHOOD SCREENING Did you know that Minnesota State Law requires Early Childhood Screening before your child enters kindergarten? EC Screening provides an opportunity for children 3 1/2 to 5 years old and their parents to participate in a free health and developmental screening. Screening includes a check of your child's hearing, vision, coordination, speech, learning development and social and emotional skills. Screening helps identify needs that may require special attention before your child enters school. Parents can discuss their concerns and find out about resoures in the school and community. If your child is 3 1/2 to 5 years old and has not been screened, call 952/556-6200.
